hope this brave little chap makes it into the future.
You’ll have to forgive me for this – I do write for children after all…
out in the garden
among the summer leaves
I found a little alien
with spikes all down her sleeves
she swiveled her antennae
her eyes were big and wide
and when she saw me watching
she just flew away to hide
I think I’ve got cabin fever from all the rain…
This photo was taken back in May, before the winter really set in – this little Mantid was obviously looking for a place to deposit her egg case.
