From the unknown
He came
the light-bearer, angel-sung
answering the prophecies
Spirit into flesh
the Christ-child,
promised since creation.

‘But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah,
though thou be little among the thousands of Judah,
yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel;
whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.’

He is the reason
the stars sang for joy
and He is the reason
this world will never
be the same.
Emanuel, ‘God with us’

a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord.’

Joy to the World, the angels sang
on that night so long ago
and through the endless ages
the peace and love still flow.

The gift of God so precious.
He gave his only son.
I wish I could have seen Him,
that wondrous little one.

And when it all seems hopeless
I remember He’ll return
and then at last I’ll see Him
and my heart with joy will burn.

And all we love will gather
to welcome back the King
and once again we’ll hear the joy
as angel voices sing.

O Holy Night
when love and mercy met
and gifted to our world
the greatest blessing yet
A night when angels sang
a greeting to the Son
and shepherds came in awe
to see the Holy one.

The starlight and the music
that filled the earth that night
can still be found in echoes
of His love that shone so bright
persevering through the ages
and holding back the hate
and finding place in human hearts
before it is too late.

And as He stooped in love
into a humble shed
He brought hope to the world
where gathering darkness fled.
So listen as the Church bells
ring out the ancient joy
and Mary, full of wonder
holds again her baby boy.
