a moment in the sun
before the grass withers
and the river rolls on…
but the seed remains
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
(You may have noticed I have this fascination with grass…)
Sometimes the going seems too rough
and bars block out the sky
while we are scrabbling in the dirt
without the wings to fly.
But this grass too will fade and pass
the clouds will melt away
‘til in the sun we stand at last
and find a brand new day.
