Such a lovely evening along the Awa last night, coolness after the heat of the day, and the evening light over all…
as a butterfly flits past
my study window
we pick the ripe peaches
before they are lost
and I wonder if
the cicada’s staccato
love song will survive
down on the flat
the river is running rough

An update this morning – not much in the way of wind or rain. The cyclone has definitely weakened, and is pretty much past us by now.
We are at war. Life is a battle. Every day we fight for joy, peace… love. This is correspondence from the front line.
