This is from a photo, and I hadn’t realised how much the perspective had enlarged the spout. Also I tried a new technique of using transparent masking tape where I didn’t want the wash to go. It allows you to cut out the shape without cutting the watercolour paper. Still learning.  The teapot itself is a Sudlow teapot.

  1. I used to paint in watercolour, but haven’t done for some years now. At times I used wax resist, a white art crayon. With the paint not adhering to that area. And remains a white space in the piece, if that is the effect you’re after.
