We were hoping to attract finches and white-eyes, but there don’t seem to be many down this way – so the sparrows and a couple of juvenile starlings have benefited.  I am also a bit addicted to textures, and there are plenty on this old corrugated iron fence.

  1. Maureen,
I love the corrugated iron too.. you know me, I love texture 🙂 Congratulations on getting some amazing bird photos, it’s so hard since the slightest hint of movement sends them scattering. Excellent photos, your did wonderfully!

  2. Hi Maureen, I put out sugar water for the tuis in Auckland at this time of year. They seem to love the instant calories…but I also stop when spring arrives. It is amazing how they came back to the feeder looking for food before I put any out this winter!

      • It is so rewarding when they choose to visit eh? I have seen a house near here where they put orange or kiwi fruit on slim metal poles for the silvereye…seems to work…but I guess the grocery bill soon racks up with fresh fruit. 😀
