SNAIL IN A HURRY

Sorry – I think I’ve had a rush of blood to the head…

Oh the flurry
and the worry
of a snail
in a hurry
and the time
and the slime
left behind
as he scurries

and did you
ever see a bear
sliding backwards
on his rear
just to
hide a tear
in his pyjamas

and the beat
of the feet
where the
wild things meet
while the
dance band plays
and the belly dancer
sways
and the wall-flower
is glued to her seat

and a dragon
on the wagon
with his dragon tail
waggin
and the fire
going higher
til it lights
his funeral pyre

and the snail
goes home
for a rest…
