  1. The tribes along the coast of British Columbia have a myth that when one hears an owl call her name it means that she is about to die. Interesting novel about that in Margaret Craven’s ‘I Heard the Owl Call My Name’; if you’ve never read it you might like it . . . It made a big impression on me . . . Blessings . . .

    • Yes, I have read that book and it left a deep impression on me. The Maori also believe that the Morepork comes to tell them about the passing of a loved one – but not the usual owl hunting cry – a special sound…
