BROKEN CATHEDRALS

– but the faith lives on

nearly all of these photographs were taken from a moving car, so please excuse the quality

– and some photos taken many years ago, myself and siblings just inside the Anglican Cathedral gates…

  1. “The God who made the world and everything in it, he who is Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in shrines made by human hands, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mortals life and breath and all things.” St. Paul in Acts 17

  2. I found these photos very moving. The ones from your childhood could have been taken of my own. My grandmother would always dress us in our Sunday best for mass. We see the things we once knew and relied on change, fade. We lose those we loved. And yet the memories remain.

  3. Those were the days, eh? I was a little bit cheered last time I was in the city because I noticed a few more buildings completed. It’s still hard to ignore the loss of what was though.
