Thought other shell enthusiasts might be interested in this wonderful shell from the Philippines – Tibia fusus. The largest of these two is 295mm long – truly beautiful.
… and now a puzzle for those gardeners out there. A friend wants to know what this perennial is. Any answers? It’s growth form is somewhat like a Primula and the leaves are quite fleshy.

Beautiful shell and flower. No idea what the flower is. I bought some shells from Vietnam last year for Christmas presents. So unusual. Wonder who knows what the flower is……..
Lovely shells. I’m amazed that they washed up on the shore whole! They look somewhat fragile.
These would not have been picked up on the shore. One belongs to another collector, and the smaller one she gave to us. I imagine they have been collected by dredging or diving. Kiwiskan http://www.kiwis-soar.com
