DROUGHT

In a month we’ve only had 12mm of rain…

dying grass
reclaimed
by hungry dust
beneath drooping trees

dry grass

birds flock
to the false promise
of the old bird bath
white-eyes, fantails
sparrows and wood pigeons
equalized by drought

Drought and horses 007

in the paddock
horses stand
motionless

  1. Those horses really personify the heat and dryness. We are dry too thanks to the recent gales and now really hot weather but we have had a bit more rain than you folks. It is hard to see everything so parched.
